2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid

RECALL SUBJECT:
2016 Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing | Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid
DATE:
2016
MANUFACTURER:
2016 Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing | Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid
SUMMARY:
  • Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued a recall of specific model year 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid and Toyota Avalon Hybrid vehicles. This recall began on August 11, 2017. The manufacturer believes the front drive shaft may separate, resulting in a loss of propulsion while driving. If the driver exits the vehicle without applying the parking brake, the vehicle may not remain in place.
  • Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC is recalling certain model 2016 Toyota Camry vehicles. The Load Carrying Capacity Modification Label may not accurately reflect the correct added weight of the installed accessories, consequently failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 110.
  • Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued a recall of certain model 2016 Avalon and Camry vehicles. Models in the recall were manufactured from November 30, 2015 to March 4, 2016, due to potentially improperly calibrated front passenger seat air bag systems. Consequently, the front passenger airbag may not properly deploy during a crash scenario.
  • Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2016 Avalon and Camry vehicles manufactured August 3, 2016, to September 12, 2016. The passenger knee air bag module may be attached with incorrect fasteners. The fasteners may become loose over time resulting in airbag deployment failure or other potential hazards.
