The Ford Motor Company is facing lawsuits over defects in its Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta car models that create a hazard for owners of the vehicles. The focus of the lawsuits is on two of Ford’s bestselling models, and affects vehicles manufactured between 2012-2015 (Ford Focus) and 2011-2015 (Ford Fiestas).
According to the language of the suit and a news story published by WLOS, hundreds of complaints have been filed. The main problems: the vehicles’ clutches and transmissions.
Reports indicate that vehicle owners are experiencing a number of complications with the transmission, including:
● Sensation of grinding when attempting to shift
● Shuddering and shaking of the vehicle during acceleration
● Delays in acceleration
The class-action lawsuit states that these problems affect a driver’s ability to control the car’s speed, acceleration, and deceleration. The lawsuit states that there have been over 500 complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
A lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Company for defects in its 2012-2015 Ford Focus and 2011-2015 Ford Fiesta car models. Transmission defects may lead to grinding sensation when shifting gears, shaking of the vehicle, and problems with accelerations and deceleration.
